Take advantage of the beautiful parks and beaches in and around Red Wing this summer. Hok-Si-La Park sits just outside of Red Wing in Lake City on the shores of Lake Pepin. The Park has several wonderful aspects including: picnic areas, hiking trails, a dining hall and camping.
The Lake City Council has officially passed a new master plan for Hok-Si-La Park in order to review the 252-acre park and find ways to improve it. Now the city can send the plan to the Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission so the park can be considered as a regionally significant park and therefore the city will be able to apply for Legacy funds to improve areas of the park.
Lake City residents don’t want any major changes or new development done to the very natural park. We shouldn’t expect any big changes coming soon, however renovations of the office building and reconfiguring parking are options for the future.
Don’t forget to go for a hike, camp, or take a splash at the historical Hok-Sil-A Park this summer.
